A Community Outreach on Waste Segregation for Children in Navotas
Role: Host & Community Facilitator
Location: Brgy. San Roque, Navotas
Date: June 19, 2024
BEACOMM of Hope is one of the most heartwarming projects I’ve ever worked on. We spent a day in Navotas facilitating fun, creative, and educational activities with children in an underserved community. As the host, I guided the flow of the program and helped create an atmosphere that was both engaging and meaningful. It was Development Communication in action—direct, empathetic, and community-centered.
I also designed the visuals used for the campaign. The challenge here was making sure our materials were age-appropriate, easy to understand, and visually appealing. I realized that good design can be a teaching tool—it can simplify messages and make information more accessible. This project reminded me that communication is most powerful when it uplifts and informs, especially in spaces that need it the most.
