✅ QuickBooks Online Cleanup & Monthly Bookkeeping for a Service-Based Business

One of the service-based businesses I recently helped had a simple request:
"Please make sense of my books!" 😅

They were using QuickBooks Online (QBO) under the cash method, which means every peso in and out matters. But like many busy business owners, they didn’t have time to keep things updated. Some income wasn’t categorized, expenses were scattered, and past months hadn’t been reconciled yet.

Here’s what I did:

✔ Cleaned up several months of backlogged transactions (yes, the “retroactive” kind!)
✔ Categorized all income and expenses, making sure nothing was missed
✔ Reconciled their bank and credit card statements to match their QBO balances
✔ Organized their Chart of Accounts, simplifying it to fit a service-based setup
✔ Prepared easy-to-understand reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) that they could actually use

Along the way, I created a simple Query Sheet to ask only what’s necessary — no info overload. I also made sure to explain things in plain language, so the client didn’t feel overwhelmed with accounting terms.

“I feel like I finally understand my numbers,” they said.
That’s always the goal. 💚

This project reminded me that bookkeeping isn’t just about numbers — it’s about clarity, peace of mind, and helping business owners focus on what they do best.
