Amazon Catalog Management – Parent-Child SKU Fix & Backend Optimization

In this portfolio project, I resolved a critical catalog issue for an Amazon seller — a child SKU became detached from its parent variation listing. This problem was negatively affecting product visibility, buy box eligibility, and customer experience.

🔧 What I Did

• Identified the disassociated child SKU that was listing separately instead of under the parent variation
• Rebuilt the variation relationship using correct parent ASIN structure via flat file upload
• Ensured backend attributes such as Variation Theme, Parentage, Item Type Keywords, and Bullet Points were correctly aligned
• Checked and corrected Product Type, Brand, and Category compliance
• Used Amazon flat file template to ensure compliance with marketplace requirements
• Verified final structure via Seller Central and live listing view

• Successfully reparented the child SKU under the correct parent ASIN
• Restored variation listings for better customer navigation
• Improved product discoverability in search
• Cleaned backend data for accurate SEO, filtering, and categorization
• Helped recover traffic, ranking, and sales for the variation family
