Mission & Vision 

The Give a Chance Foundation shares the vision of our founder, Wesley “Wes” Henderiks - to give the less privileged a chance at a better life. 

Our Mission 

To give Ukrainian refugee children a chance at a better life by providing them with the mental health support that they desperately need. We want them to smile again, regain hope, and feel safe in their current environment. 

Give a Chance (GaC) Foundation is a nonprofit organization in the Netherlands that aims to provide mental health programs such as trauma therapy sessions, mindfulness meditation, and yoga classes to Ukrainian kids. To make this possible, we’re raising money through our fundraising event, The 6 Million Minutes Challenge, and pre-selling our children’s book, The Magical Amber Seed, which is created by Ukrainian artists, Yulia and Zhenya. 

In 2019, Wesley set up this foundation to help Filipinos residing in remote areas. He originally wanted to provide them access to the internet, and create opportunities for them to learn the necessary skills to be able to work remotely and earn at the comforts of their home. Unfortunately, COVID-19 happened so this project didn't push through. 

However, when the Russia-Ukraine war started early this year and news about Ukrainians fleeing their homes to seek refuge in European countries broke out, Wesley thought that this needed more immediate attention so he sought help online from volunteers around the world to help start this new project that will benefit Ukrainian child refugees. 

Like Wes, we believe that together, we can make them smile again and bring back the hope that they lost as victims of this unfortunate war. Help us give Ukrainian child refugees a chance at a better life today. Join us in our fundraising campaigns! 

Our missionis to give Ukrainian refugee children a chance at a successful life by providing them with the mental health support that they desperately need. We want them to smile again, regain hope, and feel safe. 

With our mental health programs, we treat their traumas at an early stage ensuring that emotional damage is minimized so that they can live a happy and fulfilling life. Our therapists use trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and together with our mindfulness and yoga instructors, we provide a combination of evidence-based treatments. 

To ensure that the children receive the best possible care, we’re organizing different sports fundraising events, such as the Giving Games, and The 6 Million Minutes Challenge.

You, your family, and your friends can easily participate in these fun, but competitive activities. Sports clubs, schools, and corporate groups can start a team fundraiserand join us in our mission.
