Say YES to a new Adventure
PRIVILEGE SPEECH
(Regular Session, November 14, 2023)
To our Honorable Presiding Officer, Hon. Zenaida D. Veranga, fellow members of August body, ladies and gentlemen good morning.
I rise today as a matter of privilege. And I want to start my speech through a quote
“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others”
It is indeed bittersweet, as we have a new rosters of elected Sangguniang Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Officials it also bids farewell to our two Ex-Officio Members Hon. Amado “Jun” A. Vidal, outgoing PPLB President and Hon. Dexter B. Alegre, outgoing PPSK President.
Hon. Amado “Jun” A. Vidal legacy of long and faithful Public Service started when he was a Punong Barangay of Sta. Catalina from ______________, during his leadership he was able to improve his Barangay through Projects such as Farm-to-Market Road in Sta. Catalina Lower, Road Blinkers that could prevent accidents in the National Highway, improvement of Barangay Hall, Salintubig, to name a few. He then served as the President of Pambayang Pederasyon ng Liga ng mga Barangay from _____________ and became part of the Sangguniang Bayan as Ex-Officio Member. His strong leadership in his Barangay is evident because his public service is being continiued by his wife, Kapitana Lea Vidal.
Hon. Dexter B. Alegre shared a very long and challenging journey into Public Service. Amidst all the odds presented to him, he was able to surpass it all. I had a privilege of working closely with him in brainstorming programs for the Sangguniang Kabataan, specifically on their Mental Health Issues and Early Teenage Pregnancies. He was passionate about it with a mixture of humor and fun. His jest will definitely be missed.
Before concluding, I would like to express my utmost respect to Hon Jun Vidal and Hon. Dexter Alegre Thank you for lengthy years of service. Your legacies will continue. I hope that this privilege motion can somehow show my gratitude. I don’t want to end this motion with a goodbye, rather than “Hello to a new adventure!” God bless you
