a rapidly changing world, countries are like in a rat race to get in. Those who
are below are trying to gain the same energy of those who are on top. Riding
the tide of changes seems more like a competition. But what does it take to be
a real competitive country?
Many countries’ misconception of a wealthy ang progressive country is having what other country have. Failing to consider that each one has different setting to thrive and different circumstances to aid. One of the best examples is the patterning concept made by developing countries. Pakistan, Iraq, Brazil, and India. They thought that pushing for Manhattan project type enterprises in nuclear energy, electronics, or space research; just like other countries, would boost the development of their country. This misconception had cost them and failed in the process. Possessing nuclear energies or electronics is not coextensive to a country’s success especially when basic needs like education and health are being compromised.
The desire to shift from developing to developed country requires consideration of public interest and needs. One cannot give spaces for development if its people are hungry and ignorant. The best way to achieve development is by capitalizing own strength and the country’s focus should encompass not only to inventions but to other sectors of society as well.
