RD Fishing Group
(Vice President – Operations, Operations Division)
• Overall in-charge of the operations of the fishing fleet of RD Fishing Group (composed of 12 tuna purse seiners and 2 carriers) in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean (WCPO)
• Monitored and ensured that the morale and performance of all the fishing fleet fishing captains, officers and crew are always high and sustained
• Supervised the development of strategies and plans to optimize the fishing efficiency of the fishing fleet of RD Fishing Group under the ambit of sustainable fishing management
• Led and motivated the fishing research team in doing continuous practical work in tuna hunting, and in exploring and analyzing vessel data and satellite oceanographic data (such as seawater temperature, plankton density, salinity, currents & weather among others) using programs like CATSAT and Insight Explorer (IE) to monitor and study movements of fishing boats of all fishing fleet (Korean, Taiwanese, Philippine, American, etc.) in the WCPO as well as monitor the status of the tuna fishing grounds thereat
• Led and motivated also the fishing research team in looking for new tuna fishing equipment and techniques in the WCPO by keeping track and abreast with the latest designs and capabilities of new nets, bird radar, sonar, fish finders, fish aggregating devices, fishing drones, among others
• Led and motivated the various important teams of the Operations Division (Planning team, Vessel Monitoring System team, Vessel Day Scheme [VDS] team, Communications team and Fleet Maintenance team) in attaining their respective goals and objectives
• Performed other tasks that were assigned by the top management from time to time
