• Collect payments on past due bills
• Locate customers using credit bureau information, background checks, loan documents and other paperwork or database
• Communicate with customers by telephone and approved written correspondence to attempt to bring resolution to difficult collection accounts
• Inform clients of overdue accounts and amount currently owed
• Attempt to collect payment
• Listen to customer’s story and determine if debt can be collected
• Counsel delinquent account of customers and assist in finding funds to meet debt obligations
• Purge records if debt has been satisfied
• Follow federal and state laws dealing with debt collection
