My Client has two company names. One is Meyer Country Farms and the other is Bellyrubs Organic. When Kim first started there was just Meyer Country Farms and the product names were "Bellyrubs" but then everyone started calling everything Bellyrubs so he incorporated under that name as well.
Most of our sales are directly to stores and he wants to expand that. He wants to expand the private label market if possible but if people don't want to order with their store names on it then we are happy to sell it to them with the Bellyrubs label. A private label means that a company makes the product but then puts another companies name on it. The package maybe a little bit different or different colors or words but it is the same product inside.
The advantage for the stores having their own name on the items is that the customer can only get it at that store or if they buy it online then again the store controls where it is sold and for how much. They don't have to be worried that they are selling the exact same-named product as everyone else. What I do for his company is I email them the private label template from constant contact and I cold call pet stores and ask them is they receive the email I sent them and ask them if they might be interested with our pet products with their own brand on it without setup fees as well.
