I'm Ja and I am Marketing professional and merchandising e-commerce geek. I have been in the advertising and marketing industry since 2014, handling clients from top pharmaceuticals, drugstores, and FMCG brands. I specialized in client servicing, brand/BTL activations, event production, marketing pitch and branding. Moreover, in December 2019, I have shifted to a different career in SM Retail as a Category Merchandise Manager for e-Commerce handling these channels:

And, with my credentials and experiences from both marketing and sales, they let me handle these two big channels from 2020 until now. I have stayed productive during the pandemic and let my knowledge and skills shine - I have pulled a 365% growth increase from our ShopSM - Kultura sales last year versus our 2020 sales, while my Kultura Store website has a 9 million sales for the whole 2021 - which is a good achievement for a newly opened online store.

As a category merchandise manager for e-Commerce, my focus of work are the following:

-Learn the story of our product - Supporting local Filipino workers and social enterprise
-How do Filipino workers craft their products - To better sell them and to create the right description of each item
-Sourcing and coordination with different vendors, negotiations of costs
- Maintaining inventory level online and Inventory Checking - Making sure that all our SKUs are moving, have stocks -and selling
-Sales Analysis - Knowing what's good on our channels, fast-moving and slow-moving items, SSR
-Assortment Planning - all channels have a different market - So I need to make sure that I have the right product on each channel
-Correct pricing and margins - Need to have at least 30%-40% margins, maintain right margins
-Make the brand and its products more appealing, accessible to consumers around the globe.
-Product listing in Shopify - Product description, title, and creative SEO
-Online Marketing - brainstorm with merchandising and marketing for new ideas and gimmicks online, projects and campaigns.
-Promotions - Correct discounting, bundling, and other marketing-related gimmicks
-Identifying trends and monitoring supply and demands


My experiences in Retail gave me a better understanding of the brands/products/category that I am handling. All of my experiences and knowledge gave me a good understanding of marketing campaigns, category management, and strategies for my products. I want to ensure that the brand that I will be handling is a top choice on the consumer market. And, make my category/ brand and client successful in the market and across all channels.
