As an in-house customs broker, I am responsible for overseeing the full customs clearance process by monitoring shipment arrivals and tracking the expected time of arrival (ETA) to ensure timely follow-up. I make sure to update clients regularly on the release and delivery status of containers or cargo while checking the accuracy and completeness of all documents related to each shipment. My duties include preparing and handling import and export documentation for both air and sea shipments, as well as identifying the correct import permits required. I also compute estimated duties and taxes, process PEZA import permit applications, and lodge entries for both PEZA and consumption shipments, including IED lodgment for consignments requiring a letter of credit. Additionally, as a broker, I am the one who uploads all necessary documents to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) portal and manages the complete processing of each entry to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant customs transactions.
As an Administrative staff, I am responsible for keeping our company running smoothly by managing communication, organization, and daily operations. My typical tasks include answering phone calls, responding to emails, greeting visitors, and coordinating appointments or meetings. I also manage office supplies and maintenance request, keeping filing systems up to date, and ensuring workspaces remain orderly. Also, I handle document preparation, data entry, and record management, often working with spreadsheets or databases to keep information accurate and accessible. I also sometimes do schedule by maintaining calendars, booking meeting rooms, and arranging travel when needed.
