• Interprets, checks, and dispenses medication requests by doctors.
• Provide accurate, adequate, and timely drug information to the professional staff, patients, and relatives.
• Participates in developing and presenting orientation, education, and training programs to the pharmacy and other hospital staff.
• Organizes and prioritizes work assignments and ensures pharmacy services are provided on time.
• Completes and documents inspections of all assigned medication storage areas monthly.
• Keeps pharmacy areas and equipment clean, neat, and well-organized
• Interprets, evaluates, and dispenses prescription orders with accuracy and sound judgment
• Prepares and compounds preparation such as liquid, creams, ointments, suspensions, etc.
• Assists the pharmacy assistants in prescription reading and checking of medicines before dispensing;
• Provides patient counseling on medicines regarding indication, administration, proper storage, and adverse drug reactions for prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs.
• Dispenses dangerous drugs, and controlled chemicals such as Acetone in compliance with the approved Dangerous Drug Board regulations using due care and sound judgment;
• Records dispensed prescription and delivery of dangerous drugs, controlled precursors, and essential chemicals within 24 hours in their approved record books.
• File prescriptions dispensed that must be kept for two (2) years and ready for inspection at all times;
• Conducts a daily inventory of dangerous drugs and controlled precursors and sees to it that the record balance tallies with the actual stocks before the day ends.
• Monitors the availability of dangerous drugs and does the ordering if the stocks are already unavailable.
• Making a semi-annual report of all the transactions of dangerous drugs and controlled chemicals which will be submitted to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Compliance Section
• Renewal of the S3 and P1 PDEA license of the branch yearly.
