1. DISPENSING MEDICATIONS- accurately dispensing prescription and over -the-counter
medications based on their prescription from healthcare providers.
2. PATIENT COUNSELLING- providing patients with information on proper medication usage,
potential side effects, dosage instructions and any other relevant health advice.
3. MEDICATION MANAGEMENT- reviewing patient prescriptions for accuracy, potential drug
interactions, allergies and contraindications. Ensuring that medications are appropriate for
patient’s condition.
4. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT- managing medication inventory, including stock levels, storage and
ensuring medications are within their expiration dates.
5. COLLABORATING WITH HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS- Working closely with doctors, nurses and
other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care, including recommending
alternatives or adjustments to prescribed treatments when necessary.
6. STERILE AND NON-STERILE COMPOUNDING- Preparing and compounding sterile and non-sterile
medications, such as intravenous (IV) solutions, chemotherapy agents, intravenous (IV)

antibiotics or customized dosages tailored to individual patients, while maintaining strict
infection control practices.
7. MEDICATION SAFETY- Identifying and reporting medication errors,adverse drug reactions
(ADR’s)and other safety concerns, and participating in hospital-wide efforts to improve
medication safety protocols.
8. MONITORING DRUG THERAPIES- Monitoring patient responses to medications, reviewing lab
results, making adjustments to drug regimens as needed to improve therapeutic outcomes and
minimize adverse effects
9. EDUCATION AND TRAINING- Educating healthcare staff, including nurses and other pharmacist
on the proper use of pediatric medications and providing training on pediatric-specific concerns
such as dosing calculations, safe administration techniques and pediatric drug safety.
