As a Cashier at our shipping company, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our financial transactions. You will be responsible for accurately processing payments, handling cash, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor
1.Cash Handling: Receive payments from customers for shipping services, freight charges, and other related transactions. Count cash in the register at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accurate accounting of funds.
2.Payment Processing: Process credit/debit card transactions, checks, and electronic payments accurately and efficiently. Verify payment details and issue receipts to customers for their transactions.
3.Customer Service: Greet customers warmly as they approach the cashier counter. Answer inquiries about shipping rates, services offered, and other related questions. Provide assistance and guidance to customers in completing their transactions.
4.Sales Support: Promote additional services or products offered by the shipping company, such as insurance coverage or packaging supplies. Encourage customers to take advantage of special promotions or discounts to enhance their shipping experience.
5.Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of daily transactions, including sales totals, payments received, and discrepancies. Prepare daily cash reports and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift.
6.Compliance: Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, customer interactions, and security measures. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and guidelines to safeguard company assets.
7.Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as the shipping and logistics team, to address customer inquiries or resolve issues related to shipments. Communicate effectively with colleagues to maintain a cohesive and efficient work environment.
