I worked as a Medical Reviewer for one year and six months which my job entailed summarizing medical records as well as sorting and reviewing patients medical files and excerpts pertinent and relevant information which was submitted in the form of a report also known as the review of record. I ensured that the reports that I had submitted were concise and accurate based on the clients specific protocols of a patient's whole medical file.
I am also a former Medical Records Specialist for three months and a half. I am assigned in the Medical Billing and collection Department mainly to check and organize the correspondences that we receive from different insurance companies about a patient's medical claims status. I was also assigned to check and make sure that no payments would go missing by checking their payments through a medical billing software. I also helped locate missing payments in EOBs.
Bothe field allows me to enhance and sharpen my organization skills and to have a strong attention to detail to ensure that the data that I have worked on was accurate and stored in the right locations and folders. Having a high sense of integrity is a must in these two fields because I handled sensitive patient information that must be easily accessible when needed but also stored securely in accordance with privacy. As more and more medical records and files were diglitalized, I am keeping up with the evolving technology which made the process of transferring and delivering of files much easier so I am very much comfortable with computers. I also strike a balance between achieving cost reduction and improving my work quality as well as increasing my productivity.
