Hey Gerson!
Let’s just jump right into things and talk about this ‘not so glamorous’ topic- BLOATING.
If you are reading this, I bet you have probably struggled with bloating in your life. Most likely, you
struggle with it currently. This is something most of my clients have experienced. When you deal
with something for so long it feels normal, but we can help you break that cycle.
Unless you are actively working to address the cause of the bloating, you won't experience much
change. In most tough cases it doesn’t go away on its own.
What do you do about it? We got you!
1. FIBER - TOO MUCH OR NOT ENOUGH
Most people are in the “not enough” fiber category and need to slowly increase their fiber intake
by adding in things like veggies, whole grains, nuts and seeds. This helps your body stay regular.
2. NOT ENOUGH WATER & ELECTROLYTES
You need electrolytes to help your body absorb the fluids you drink & you need enough fluids to
keep things moving and keep your body from holding onto water which can leave you feeling
bloated and ‘watery’.
3. STRESS
As if being anxious and worried aren’t already bad enough! Stress can slow down your digestion;
causing bloating and constipation in some people. In others, it can have the opposite effect,
speeding up digestion, which results in gas and diarrhea.
4. FOOD SENSITIVITIES
Sensitivities to foods, or a food group, can lead to GI issues. Everyone is different with what they
may be sensitive to. The ONLY true way to determine your triggers is through an elimination diet
(spoiler- a test like Everlywell isn’t going to do this for you).
5. POOR DIGESTIVE FUNCTION
Without enough stomach acid, pancreatic enzymes, and bile your body is not able to fully break
down the foods you eat. You can support proper function through diet or in severe cases your
body may need some support from medical-grade supplements.
