Open Me!
I enrolled in the School for Amazon PH, where we were given the opportunity to act as an Amazon Product Researchers. Below is one of the winning deals that I found during my OJT.
- ✔️ Strict criteria that needs to consider.
- ✔️ I found this profitable product using storefront stalking.
- ✔️ I used the Keepa tool to check its price history and was happy to see that it has a stable buy box.
- ✔️ Next, I checked its BSR which is only #2,131 and it passed to our criteria. The lower the BSR, the better.
- ✔️ Here, I checked how many active sellers and FBA sellers are on the listing, as well as how many sales per month this product has.
✔️ The important details of the Buy Box Statistics tab in the Keepa tool are that it displays the sellers' history, showing who won the buy box, and allows us to analyze if we can still join the listing.
- ✔️ Checking if the product belongs to IP brands or gated products.
- ✔️ After considering all the criteria above and analyzing the product, it's time to do the reverse sourcing. I check all the details to see if it's identical to Amazon, if it still has stock in its store, and if the pricing is profitable.
- ✔️ Let's first check if the online store is legit using Scamadviser. I make sure to follow the criteria; the website must have a trust score of 90% or above.
- ✔️ This time, I need to check if it is a profitable product. I used the Amazon FBA Calculator. Instead of copying its original price of $29.99, I input its average stable price which is $39.97, along with the product cost (the store's purchase price of $17.48) and the shipping cost of 0.50. The calculation shows that it is a good deal with a profit of $7.79 and with an ROI of 43.35%.
That's how I sourced and the technique I used to find a good deal on US Amazon. It was a roller coaster experience to find a good deal, and I can say that it's not an easy task, especially given the strict criteria that need to followed. But after all, it was worth it. I passed my OJT, and I am grateful enough to my coaches for all the knowledge they imparted. I'm proud that through this course, I became a certified Amazon Product Researcher.
