Hi there!, I am Phil Andrew

Hi im Phil Andrew Cerda

Hi there! I’m Phil Andrew Cerda, but you can call me Phil. I'm 38 years old and a proud father to a 6-year-old son who requires special medication for his mental condition. Being his father has taught me the true value of patience, resilience, and unconditional love. I’ve learned to celebrate every small victory, like when he completes a task on his own—it never fails to bring a big smile to my face.

I’ve always had a natural passion for teaching and watching others grow. That’s one of the reasons I became a school teacher. Whether in the classroom or outside, I love seeing people make progress. I’m also one of the early skateboarders in my town, and I take great joy in teaching the younger generation. Watching them try, fall, and eventually succeed inspires me every day. Teaching has made me a better communicator, listener, and a more determined person overall. I believe in giving my best in everything I do.

I see life a lot like skateboarding—you fall, you get hurt, but you never give up until you land the trick. That’s how I approach my life and work too. I don’t stop until the job is done right. If there’s no clear way forward, I’ll find one.

I am eager to obtain a position in the computer field that will allow me to further develop my technical and computer skills. With a solid background in computer maintenance, software, hardware, and network support, I am passionate about expanding my expertise and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends. Throughout my career, I have gained valuable hands-on experience, from running my own computer shop for nearly a decade to teaching computer courses at the college level. I am committed to continuous learning and improvement, and I am excited about opportunities where I can apply my existing knowledge while gaining new insights to drive my professional growth.

I’m currently seeking a home-based position, ideally as a Virtual Assistant, so I can care for my son while working from home. My wife works full-time, and working remotely will allow me to support both our family’s needs and daily expenses. providing freelance service. I’m comfortable with multitasking, highly organized, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
I’m eager to contribute to a company where I can grow professionally while also balancing my responsibilities at home. I am reliable, tech-savvy, and dedicated to giving my best in everything I do.

Computer Shop Owner
(Hands on owner)

I was the hands-on owner of my own computer shop, which I successfully ran for almost a decade. I personally provided services such as hardware and software maintenance, network setup, typing jobs, and multimedia editing to walk-in customers. However, due to the rising popularity of mobile games and a decline in demand for PC-based services, I eventually had to close the shop.

2013 - 2015
RIGELNET Software and Development Services
(Quality Assurance Staff)

Our office was located in Makati City, about a 3-hour drive from my home, and we worked the night shift to align with our American-based client. At the time, social media was just starting to gain popularity. The client developed a promising social media platform, but unfortunately, it didn’t gain traction. Together with my colleagues, our task was to create multiple user accounts repeatedly—with varying information such as location, age, gender, and email address—to test the platform for bugs and usability issues. We also performed similar testing on other software developed by the client and reported any issues we discovered.

2015 - 2016
PBTS Colleges
(Teacher/Instructor)

I worked as a full-time teacher/instructor for all computer-related courses in the college department of the school. To prepare effectively, I had to review and relearn fundamental computer concepts to ensure I could teach from a strong foundation. In addition to teaching, I was also responsible for maintaining the school’s computer systems, handling issues related to hardware, software, and networking.

I was also given the opportunity to serve as a Physical Education (PE) instructor for both the high school and college departments. As a skateboarder and basketball player, this role aligned well with my interests and skills, making it a natural fit.

2016 - 2017
Blanco Family Academy
(Teacher/Instructor)

Just like in my past teaching experience, my job also involves working with computers (software, hardware, and networking), including their maintenance. The only difference is that I teach in high school, so I have to focus more on the basics. However, I also teach students techniques for working with computers based on my experience.
