Hi, I'm Ruth 36 years old, a wife, mom and a Nurse by profession. Graduated with a bachelors degree in Nursing in the Philippines. I currently reside here in the United Kingdom with my husband and 6 year old son.
Passionate and dedicated nurse with over 5years of healthcare experience in various medical settings both in the Philippines and abroad. Some of which is Adult General ICU, Medical and Surgical ward and Palliative Care. Dealing with a very broad range of medical conditions and working with collaborative healthcare team to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care possible.
Currently, I am looking for a job, preferably Medical Virtual Assistant to still pursue my nursing career without leaving the house and have more time to focus on my family.
Nursing in the Philippines
• Performs nursing duties in accordance with facility policies and procedures, and the rules and regulations of the Ministry of National guard – Health Affairs
• Provides direct patient care, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff; assesses and treats patient conditions in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team
• Performs procedures, such as injections and catheterizations
• Assists with the management of vascular access devices
• Evaluates patients' compliance to treatment plans and evaluates and reports test results
• Performs health promotion activities to prevent illness and maintain health
• Performs nursing support duties, such as assisting with treatments and procedures, in addition to other related duties as assigned
• Give direct nursing care
• Identify nursing needs of patients
• Plans, gives and evaluate nursing care
• Admit/discharge patients
• Perform nursing activities such as bathing and oral hygiene
• Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, acting on those changes to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Takes and record vital signs
• Observe medical sepsis
• Observe signs and symptoms, institutes remedial action when appropriate
• Reports observation to the physician
• Insert intravenous lines
• Acts as liaison between patient and hospital personnel
• Prepares patient and assist physician for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Carries out doctors’ legal order
• Assist physician when examining the patient
• Perform catheterization, and gives enema
• Administer and charts medication and patient’s reactions to medication
• Sees to it that equipment receive proper care and maintenance
• Discharge patients
• Perform post mortem care
• Practice patient teaching/training for patient and families
• Teaches and directs non-professional nursing personnel
• Acts as senior nurse when delegated
• Receives and endorses ward equipment and supplies
• Interpret hospital policies and procedures
