I enrolled myself for further enhancement of my skills in the field of Virtual Assistance. As a trainee, I worked under the guidance of a senior virtual assistant or supervisor to learn the skills and processes required to provide effective virtual assistance to clients. It involved learning how to manage schedules, handle email and phone communications, book travel arrangements, and perform various administrative tasks. Intensive training in Social Media Management, Data Entry, and Content Writing. During the training period, I received regular feedback and coaching to help me improve my skills and refine my approach to virtual assistance.
I received my certificate of completion after the immersive training.
Sales Representative, iQor Philippines, Bacolod City
I landed my first job in a BPO company as a customer service representative with iQor Philippines. I was in the Sales Department. Our line of business was Floral Industry. The company was called 1-800 Flowers. We perform inbound and outbound calls, and reach daily sale quotas for bouquets, stems, and vases for all kinds of occasions in the USA.
Technical Support Representative, Convergys-Concentrix Philippines, Bacolod City
The second BPO company I worked with was Spectrum, formerly known as Time Warner Cable. The company was an internet service provider. As Technical Support Representative, our main line of work was internet and hardware troubleshooting, repair, and replacement. We make inbound and outbound calls depending on the customer's concern. Although we also accommodate internet upgrades, offer internet, cable, and phone plans, and process billing.
Public School Teacher, Tiglawigan national High School
My most recent employment was with the government sector as a public school teacher. I was a probationary teacher for three years. I was teaching English, as well as Technology and Livelihood Education, to grade 9 and grade 10 students. Here I managed and enhanced my skills and knowledge in so many ways: technical, personal, and social. Dealing with diverse cultured students and colleagues can be very challenging, but mostly worth learning from. I was not able to renew my probation period due to the pandemic.
Social Media Management
Aside from finishing in-depth training in Social Media Management and Facebook Ads Management, I have experienced managing a school institution page for 2 years. I created and managed the official Facebook page of my former employment. I was able to obtain excellent results in terms of promoting the school and reaching out to more prospects for enrolment. Social Media Management is one of the fundamental areas in Virtual Assistance, and having experience managing one is an edge to the field.
Graphic Designing, Content Creation
It is an essential skill for teachers to design their own instructional materials. Other than that, I also craft my own designs for T-shirt printing and make templates for certificates, visual aids, and tarpaulins. I am adept with using Canva for creating designs, and customization. I am highly capable of using editing applications for video editings like Capcut and Filmora. I personally create the content for the promotion of the school's social media page. This skill set is very important in the field of Virtual Assistance, and I want to maximize my capabilities in it.
Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace
A fundamental skill set for teachers to have is the manipulation of Microsoft Office and working with Google Workspace. It is an integral part of accomplishing tasks back in my previous employment, so I could definitely say I am capable of maximizing these tools and integrating them into my work as a Virtual Assistant.
Data Entry
Managing and securing the personal and scholastic information of students throughout their entire career as a student must be one of the most critical parts of being a teacher. Making sure that these information are detailed, carefully encoded, and well-secured can be very challenging. Another tedious part of this is the gathering of information. Collecting personal and academic records of students can also be very difficult depending on the circumstances and background of the student. Having experienced this scrutinous task would certainly be useful in the field of Data Entry.
